It’s been a while since we posted an update on our picnic shelter project. The changes aren’t as dramatic as they were at first, but it’s still exciting to watch the progress. The ends are enclosed, and we have a door to the storage area. The storage area on the east end has windows to accommodate a concession or kitchen area in the future. There is still some money left to help us finish the project, but we may need to start prioritizing the jobs until more funding comes in. We still need siding, soffit & fascia for sure. Any electrical work and lighting should be run before we enclose the interior ceiling. We’ll need windows or something to cover the openings in the storage area. About 8 picnic tables will make the area more comfortable for families and library programs. There are also landscaping, sidewalk, and accessibility needs. If you would like to donate and be a part of our team, donations can be accepted at the Rib Lake Library, Village Hall, or the local branch of Nicolet Bank.
